Lewis Holtby has reportedly moved a step closer to making a permanent move to Hamburger SV from Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old was sent to the Bundesliga club on loan in the summer after Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino decided the attacking midfielder was not part of his plans.
Despite the team's struggles early in the season, Holtby has done enough to persuade Josef Zinnbauer to sanction the move, according to Bild.
Reports in Germany suggest that Spurs will receive a fee close to £5.1m for Holtby when the transfer window reopens in January.
Holtby moved to White Hart Lane from Schalke in January 2013.
