Manchester City could reportedly turn their attention to Barcelona's Antoine Griezmann if they are priced out of a move for Harry Kane.
The Citizens are believed to be at the head of the queue for England captain Kane but will not hesitate to walk away if Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy continues to play hardball over a fee.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has affirmed that the club will replace the recently-departed Sergio Aguero, though, and the Premier League champions could therefore look to take advantage of Barca's financial crisis.
According to Fichajes, Pep Guardiola would welcome Griezmann to the Etihad with open arms, as the former Barca manager views the France international as an ideal fit for his 4-3-3 false nine setup.
La Blaugrana will supposedly have to cut £171m from their wage bill if Lionel Messi pens a new deal with the club, and the report adds that Griezmann would be open to an exit from Camp Nou.
The 30-year-old has also been strongly linked with Juventus after finishing the 2020-21 campaign with 20 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, but he currently remains focused on France's Euro 2020 exploits.
Griezmann started in all three of Les Bleus' group games, netting the equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Hungary, and he is expected to start in Monday's last-16 clash with Switzerland.
