Sporting Lisbon winger Marcus Edwards wants to return to the Premier League in the future.
The 23-year-old came through Tottenham Hotspur's academy, but he left the club in 2019 to join Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes.
After scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists in 96 appearances for Guimaraes, Edwards earned himself a move to Sporting in January.
The Englishman has enjoyed a successful period for the Portuguese giants, and played a pivotal role in their 2-0 Champions League victory over Spurs on Tuesday.
Following his man of the match display, Edwards told BT Sport: "It feels great and I think we deserved it. We showed how we can play.
"I wouldn't say extra special, but it was a special feeling to play against Spurs. It was good to see people I know - players and coaching staff.
"I stayed the same. Focus was the same. It's a proper family environment here and I couldn't be happier.
"It's home, so of course I want to come back there [to the Premier League] one day. I just focus on what I'm doing here for now."
Edwards has netted six goals and contributed six assists in his 23 games for Sporting where he is under contract until June 2026. body check tags ::
