Paris Saint-Germain reportedly prepare to rival Inter Milan for the signing of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris this summer.

The former France international has confirmed his desire to leave the North London club in the coming weeks ahead of the expiry of his contract in 2024.

Lloris has made no secret of his wish to return to boyhood club Nice, whom he represented for 11 years between 1997 and 2008 before transferring to Lyon, but plenty of options remain on the table.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia are believed to be willing to treble Lloris's salary, but Inter Milan could instead offer him the chance to continue in Europe as they prepare for life without Manchester United-bound Andre Onana.

Inter are said to have accelerated their efforts to bring Lloris to San Siro this summer, but according to Record Sport, the Nerazzurri could now face stiff competition in the form of PSG.

Lloris would arrive at the Parc des Princes as a backup to undisputed number one Gianluigi Donnarumma, although much will depend on the future of Costa Rican veteran Keylor Navas.

The 36-year-old has returned to PSG after helping Nottingham Forest secure Premier League survival in the absence of Dean Henderson, who is now expected to make his loan move to the City Ground permanent.

Navas is only under contract at PSG for another 12 months, though, while third-choice goalkeeper Sergio Rico is recovering from a severe head injury sustained in a horse-riding accident in his native Spain.

Rico was placed in intensive care and was in a coma for over two weeks, and while his condition is steadily improving, is it reportedly unlikely that he will be able to resume his football career.

However, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly has no intention of letting Lloris leave on a free transfer this summer, and he will demand a fee from PSG for the 36-year-old.

Lloris has kept 151 clean sheets in 447 matches for Spurs in all competitions since arriving in 2012, but he conceded 39 Premier League goals last year and was criticised for a number of mistakes.

Lloris recorded seven shutouts in 25 top-flight appearances last term as Spurs missed out on European football with an eighth-placed finish, and the Lilywhites have added Guglielmo Vicario to their goalkeeping department from Empoli this summer.

PSG have also been busy in the transfer market ahead of Luis Enrique's first season in charge, already confirming the arrivals of Lee Kang-in, Manuel Ugarte, Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio.

Benfica youngster Cher Ndour is also expected to make the move to the Parc des Princes, while Bernardo Silva and Joao Felix are reportedly being targeted by new manager Enrique. body check tags ::
