Manchester City will reportedly complete the signing of Dani Alves later this week, despite facing some late competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Brazil international is due to officially leave current club Juventus in the coming days after deciding against taking up the option of a one-year contract extension.
Alves talked up a move to Man City last week when admitting that he would be interested in linking up with Pep Guardiola once again, but Tottenham are said to have also made an approach.
According to The Sun, however, Alves has his heart set on a reunion with ex-Barcelona boss Guardiola and will reject the Lilywhites' offer, as they up their own search for a new full-back.
The same report suggests that City are still interested in Tottenham ace Kyle Walker, though the two clubs remain apart in their valuation of the England international, with the Londoners valuing him at £50m.
