Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the brink of signing central defender Davinson Sanchez after reaching an agreement with Ajax over his transfer fee.
The 21-year-old emerged as a rumoured target for the Lilywhites last week and was left out of the Dutch club's squad to face Rosenberg in Europa League qualifying on Thursday night.
According to the London Evening Standard, Spurs could announce their first signing of the summer in the next 24 hours as Sanchez is due in London to undergo a medical.
It is claimed that the player is still yet to finalise personal terms, but the biggest hurdle has been overcome after agreeing to meet the Colombia international's valuation.
Ajax director of football Marc Overmars claimed at the end of last season, having seen Sanchez voted the club's Player of the Year, that it would take more than £35m to prise him away.
The same report suggests that Tottenham could end up spending as much as £42m, with £28m of that being handed over up front and the rest in add-ons.
