Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among a number of clubs who hold an interest in Lecce midfielder Joan Gonzalez.
Spurs are currently going through a period of uncertainty on a number of fronts, particularly with the future of head coach Antonio Conte being called into question.
The North London outfit are also in the process of trying to retain the services of Harry Kane and attempting to finish in the top four of the Premier League standings.
Nevertheless, Spurs are still required to assess potential opportunities in the market having seemingly lost ground on a number of clubs throughout 2022-23.
A transfer budget for Conte or his replacement will be dependent on whether Champions League football is secured and if Kane stays or leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
According to Torro.it, Spurs are ready to give consideration to making an approach for Gonzalez.
The Spanish central midfielder has established himself as a key player at Lecce, making 21 starts and four substitute outings in Serie A this campaign.
However, the latter stages of the 21-year-old's youth days were spent at Barcelona, where he failed to make a senior appearance.
Gonzalez has since made an impression at Stadio Via del mare, though, and it has led to a wide array of clubs allegedly monitoring his development.
Everton and West Ham United are the other Premier League clubs who have been credited as admirers of a player who can be deployed in a defensive or attacking central role.
As far as Italian interest is concerned, AC Milan are also contemplating whether to try to tempt Lecce into a sale at the end of the season.
Much may depend on whether Lecce are able to retain their status in Italy's top flight, the current gap above the relegation zone standing at eight points.
Gonzalez still has over four years remaining on his contract, something which will leave I Giallorossi in a strong position to retain his services should they keep their spot in Serie A. body check tags ::
