Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in securing a reunion with Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Having decided to take on a new challenge, Eriksen left North London for San Siro 12 months ago for what was supposed to be the next phase of his career.
However, the 28-year-old has failed to make an impact, leading to both the player and club pushing for an exit before the end of January.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mourinho has made it known to the Spurs board that he would welcome the return of the Denmark international, initially on a temporary basis.
Romano adds that a potential stumbling block with any deal could be the player's wages, now said to be at £6.6m per year.
Much could depend on whether Mourinho and Spurs give the green light for Dele Alli to head out on loan to Paris Saint-Germain.
