Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided to meet the asking price of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva.
Last month, it was claimed that the Portuguese giants had told the Premier League outfit that they would have to pay a fee of £26m in order to sign their captain.
According to A Bola, Spurs have opted to meet their demands by lodging an offer in the region of £27m for the Portuguese international.
Silva has a release clause of £39.5m in his contract, but it has been claimed that Sporting are willing to accept a lower fee for the 28-year-old.
Last season, he made 32 starts for Sporting in all competitions, while he has just represented his national team at the Confederations Cup.
Silva was linked with a switch to Leicester City ahead of the previous campaign, but he instead extended his spell in Lisbon to a 10th year.
