Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly contemplating whether to propose a part-exchange deal for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson.
While Spurs can claim to have enjoyed a productive transfer window on the incoming front, speculation regarding Harry Kane's future means that their forward line remains incomplete.
Argentine frontman Alejo Veliz is on the brink of arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, yet Ange Postecoglou has ambitions to make further changes in attack.
The level of those alterations may be dependent on what materialises with Kane, the latest development seeing Spurs reject an improved bid from Bayern Munich.
Nevertheless, Johnson has allegedly been on the club's radar for a number of months having impressed during Forest's first season back in the Premier League.
Johnson chipped in with eight goals and three assists from 38 outings in the top flight, either featuring in a support role or down the middle of the frontline.
Although Forest continue to regard the Wales international as a key man, they are said to have placed a £50m price-tag on his signature.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs would look to include Djed Spence and Joe Rodon in any proposal for the 22-year-old over the coming weeks.
Spence is no stranger to the City Ground having played a key role in their Championship promotion-winning campaign in 2021-22, making 42 league appearances during that season.
However, since linking up with Spurs from Middlesbrough later that year, he has accumulated just 41 minutes for the North Londoners, making a further 10 outings on loan at Rennes.
Rodon has taken a similar path, falling out of favour under Antonio Conte and spending the entire campaign at the same French outfit in 2022-23, making 22 appearances in all competitions.
Spurs are now ready to cash in on each player, Spence remaining as third choice at right-back and Rodon behind a number of central defenders that will soon be boosted by the arrival of Micky van de Ven.
Meanwhile, Forest are well stocked for numbers in each position, and departures would be required if they were to entertain signing either of Spence or Rodon this month. body check tags ::
