Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to hijack Liverpool's pursuit of Anzhi Makhachkala's attacking midfielder Willian.
The Reds are believed to have entered into discussions with the
Russian side for their playmaker.
However, Spurs are also keen on the Brazilian and are trying to trump their Premier League rivals, according to The Mirror.
Liverpool have allegedly offered £26m for the former Shakhtar Donetsk man, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to meet Anzhi's £30m asking price.
Willian moved to Anzhi only in January, but the club's owner Suleyman Kerimov has decided to drastically cut costs at the club and has put every player up for the transfer.
