Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce will reportedly not be making a loan move for Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend in January.
The 24-year-old England international has been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light when the window opens in the New Year after finding first-team opportunities limited at Spurs so far this season.
Townsend was also linked with the Black Cats when Allardyce's predecessor Dick Adovcaat was in charge, while Swansea City, Leicester City and Newcastle United are also rumoured to be pursuing his signature.
According to the Sunderland Echo, Allardyce will not consider a move for Townsend because Sunderland already have his Spurs teammate DeAndre Yedlin on loan and, due to Premier League rules, they are not allowed to take another player on loan from the same club.
Townsend has played seven times so far for Spurs this season.
