Sunderland have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose on a season-long loan.
The England Under-21 international will act as a direct replacement for Kieran Richardson, who left Wearside to join Fulham earlier today.
Rose, who is also capable of playing as a winger, has struggled to establish himself on Spurs' left side due to the consistent performances of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Gareth Bale.
Martin O'Neill was keen to bring in the 22-year-old and enticed him with the offer of more regular first-team action.
Spurs teammate Jermaine Jenas could follow Rose to the Stadium of Light after Sunderland reportedly agreed a fee for the former England midfielder.
