Tottenham Hotspur reportedly consider a £60m January move for Everton's Anthony Gordon amid their attacking crisis.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a £60m January swoop for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon.

The England Under-21 international was a much-admired player of the summer after enjoying a breakthrough campaign under the tutelage of Frank Lampard.

Chelsea were thought to have been pushing hard to bring Gordon to Stamford Bridge in the most recent transfer window, and the Blues supposedly failed with a last-ditch attempt to sign him.

Manchester United were also thought to have been keeping tabs on the attacker, but Everton are under no pressure to sell with the 21-year-old contracted to Goodison Park until 2025.

Gordon has struggled for consistency this season, coming up with just three goals in 13 Premier League appearances, but interest in his services has reportedly not died down.

According to The Sun, Tottenham are now considering a big-money January approach for the Everton man amid their attacking injury crisis.

The report adds that Spurs were one of the interested parties over the summer, but Lampard remains determined to keep hold of Gordon for the time being.

However, with Gordon only scoring once in Everton's last eight Premier League games, Toffees chiefs are supposedly concerned that the summer saga over his future is impacting his form.

As a result, Tottenham are preparing to test Everton's resolve and have supposedly already made contact over a move for the England youth international.

Furthermore, the Lilywhites could have a clear run at Gordon's services, as Chelsea boss Graham Potter supposedly has no interest in making a mid-season move.

Everton are expected to try to tie Gordon down to a new-and-improved deal in a bid to secure his long-term future, but the two parties are yet to reach an agreement.

The Englishman has totalled seven goals and eight assists in 73 games for Everton in all tournaments since coming through the youth ranks at Goodison Park and would arrive to aid an ailing Tottenham attack.

Son Heung-min recently underwent surgery to correct an eye socket fracture, while Richarlison (calf) and Dejan Kulusevski (hamstring) have both been absent for the past few weeks.

There is hope that Kulusevski might be able to return for Sunday's clash with Liverpool, but the injury-hit Lucas Moura experienced fresh pain in training on Friday and is doubtful.

Harry Kane and Bryan Gil could therefore be Spurs' only two fit attackers for the meeting with Liverpool, although Antonio Conte could choose to deploy Ivan Perisic further up the field. body check tags ::
