Tottenham Hotspur have weighed up a potential move for Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin this summer, according to a report.
The 25-year-old has proven to be a key figure at St James' Park during his three seasons with the club so far, often providing the required spark with his pace and directness with the ball at his feet.
However, despite his success on Tyneside, recent reports had suggested that Newcastle would be open to selling the Frenchman in the upcoming transfer window were the right fee offered, although that appears unlikely to be the case at this stage.
Although, Spurs have emerged as a potential destination for Saint-Maximin in the coming weeks, with sporting director Fabio Paratici said to be a huge admirer of the winger according to football.london.
The report does not suggest that talks have begun with either the club or the player as of yet, but that the interest from North London is certainly there.
Were Saint-Maximin to make the move to Antonio Conte's side, he would be competing with the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski and Ivan Perisic for a place in the front three.
During his three years with Newcastle, the winger has gone on to score 12 goals and register 16 assists in 93 appearances for the club across all competitions so far. body check tags ::
