Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez before this summer's transfer window closes for business.
The 25-year-old, who represented Uruguay at this summer's Copa America, was strongly linked with Leeds United last month before the Whites cooled their interest.
Nandez is thought to have a €36m (£30.1m) release clause in his current contract, which has three years left to run, placing Cagliari in a strong position to demand the full figure from any interested club.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have made contact to discuss a possible move for the midfielder, but the Premier League club are yet to submit an official bid.
Nandez, who started his career with Penarol before moving to Boca Juniors, scored twice and registered three assists in 34 appearances for his Italian club last season.
Romano also claims that Spurs are keen to sign another centre-back before the end of the window despite recently bringing in Cristian Romero from Atalanta BC.
