Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly expressed an interest in signing former Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
After the legendary forward's shock departure from Camp Nou, Paris Saint-Germain are the clear frontrunners to wrap up a deal in the coming days.
However, according to ESPN, Spurs are among the clubs who have indicated that they want to sign the 34-year-old on a free transfer.
The report suggests that the North London side may have only made preliminary enquiries regarding the costs involved with any deal.
Atletico Madrid, managed by Messi's Argentine compatriot Diego Simeone, are also said to have asked whether the 34-year-old would be open to a switch to Wanda Metropolitano.
Messi is currently expected to pen a two-year contract with PSG, providing that the French club can fulfil any relevant FFP criteria.
