Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on signing Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old only joined the Spanish giants from Inter Milan last summer but has struggled to work his way into the first team at the Bernabeu, making just seven league starts all season.
His lack of playing time has alerted a number of clubs to his potential availability, including Premier League title-chasers Spurs, according to Spanish publication AS.
The two clubs have done business in recent years, with Luka Modric and Gareth Bale both moving to the Spanish capital from White Hart Lane.
However, the report also goes on the claim that Spurs will face competition for the Croatia international from Madrid's La Liga rivals Sevilla.
