Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in the running to sign Napoli centre-back Nikola Maksimovic.
The 29-year-old has made 13 appearances for his Italian club during the 2020-21 campaign, while he has been involved in five of their last six Serie A matches.
The Serbia international's contract in Naples is due to expire at the end of June, though, meaning that he is currently able to discuss terms with foreign clubs over a free transfer.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, Maksimovic has emerged as a target for Jose Mourinho's side, who are prepared to meet his economic demands.
"About [Elseid] Hysaj I have more hope, while I believe that Maksimovic will go away," Longardi told Il Napoli Online.
"On him, there are many teams ready to satisfy him even at an economic level, including Tottenham."
Maksimovic has made 85 appearances for Napoli since arriving from Torino in 2016, while he has been capped on 25 occasions by the Serbian national team.
