Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up a move for Benfica's Alex Grimaldo.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign for the Portuguese outfit this season, registering six assists in 24 league matches.
Grimaldo, who is capable of playing at left-back or left-midfield, has allegedly caught the attention of Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
However, according to reports in Spain, Spurs have emerged as frontrunners for the Spaniard, who has chalked up 156 appearances for Benfica.
The report suggests that Jose Mourinho is not satisfied with his current options and has asked the Tottenham board to pull out all the stops to sign the defender.
Grimaldo's current deal at Benfica expires in 2023, and he will allegedly cost the Lilywhites €35m (£32.5m).
