Southampton's Jannik Vestergaard emerges as a potential transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Southampton's Jannik Vestergaard as a transfer target ahead of this summer's window.

The North London club are widely expected to sign a new centre-back ahead of the 2021-22 campaign, with the capital giants struggling in that area of the field during the current season.

According to The Mirror, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is an admirer of Vestergaard and is keen to bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the upcoming market.

The 28-year-old could be available for a cut-price fee this summer as his current contract at St Mary's is due to expire next June.

Vestergaard has scored three times in 20 Premier League appearances during the 2020-21 campaign, but he missed seven matches between December 26 and February 2 with a knee problem.

The Denmark international has made 67 outings in total for the Saints since arriving from Borussia Monchengbadlbach in July 2018. body check tags ::
