Everton are reportedly closing in on the signing of Southampton striker Che Adams in a £15m deal.

The Toffees are believed to have submitted an opening bid of £12m for the Scotland international, who is in the final year of his contract at St Mary's.

Everton's advances were rebuffed, but according to The Telegraph, the Toffees are now growing optimistic of sealing a deal for Adams after upping their offer to £15m.

The report adds that discussions have now entered their final stages, and Everton will beat Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest to Adams's signature.

The 27-year-old only found the back of the net five times in 28 Premier League appearances last season, as the Saints finished rock bottom of the pile to drop back down to the Championship.

However, Adams has made a positive start to life back down in the second tier, scoring in each of Southampton's opening three matches against Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich City and Plymouth Argyle.

Over at the London Stadium, West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals is reportedly attracting interest from Europa League winners Sevilla.

The former Villarreal man has proven his worth to David Moyes since arriving in the summer of 2019, amassing 23 goals and 19 assists from 182 games in all tournaments.

However, Fornals is not a guaranteed starter for the Irons, appearing from the first whistle 17 times in the Premier League last term and on just four occasions during their Europa Conference League triumph, although he came up with a pivotal semi-final goal against AZ Alkmaar.

The 27-year-old has also entered the final year of his contract with West Ham, and according to AS, Sevilla are keen to bring him back to his homeland.

The report adds that contact has been made with Fornals's camp, and while Real Betis also hold an interest in the Spaniard, they are not serious contenders for his signature due to their financial concerns.

West Ham would supposedly be willing to accept a fee between €5m (£4.3m) and €8m (£6.8m) to sell Fornals, who came off the bench for the final 14 minutes of Sunday's 3-1 Premier League win over Chelsea.

Ahead of Fornals's potential exit and the investigation surrounding Lucas Paqueta's alleged betting breaches, West Ham are said to have made a move for Nordsjaelland starlet Ernest Nuamah.

The 19-year-old Ghana international left the Right to Dream academy to join the Danish side in January 2022 and has come up with 20 goals in 49 games for the senior team since.

Nuamah - who can play anywhere across the forward line - has already netted four goals in six games in 2023-24, including a hat-trick in a 4-1 Superliga win over Viborg on the opening weekend of the season.

According to Football Insider, West Ham have now approached Nordsjaelland with an offer for Nuamah, who earned his first Ghana cap in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in June.

However, the Hammers are facing stiff competition to sign Nuamah, as Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley are also said to be keeping tabs on his progress.

West Ham have already lost out to Lens in the race for French striker Elye Wahi, while they are apparently struggling to find common ground with Ajax in talks for Mohammed Kudus.

Finally, Sheffield United have reportedly been informed that they must double their offer if they are to land Aston Villa striker Cameron Archer this summer.

The Blades are believed to have submitted an offer of £10m in an attempt to prise the England Under-21 international away from Villa Park, which was rejected by the Lions.

With Archer under contract in the West Midlands until 2027, a separate report from Football Insider claims that Villa are ready to demand as much as £20m to let him leave this summer.

Archer shone on loan at Middlesbrough in the second half of last season with 11 goals and six assists from 20 regular-season Championship matches, before netting twice during England's run to the Under-21 Euros title.

The 21-year-old is therefore said to be pining for regular football at this stage of his career, but he is facing competition from Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran for minutes in Unai Emery's side.

Archer has scored four goals in 14 senior games for Villa since coming through their youth academy, but he was only given a five-minute run-out off the bench in Sunday's 4-0 Premier League win over Everton. body check tags ::
