Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek reportedly favours a transfer to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Despite being widely linked with an exit from the Champions League semi-finalists in the summer, Van de Beek remained at his current club for the current campaign.
However, having already contributed seven goals and five assists in all competitions since August, the Netherlands international is expected to sign for a bigger club in 2020.
According to De Telegraaf, Spurs have failed to convince Van de Beek to move to London, with the suggestion being that the 22-year-old would prefer to sign for Real Madrid.
The report adds that the La Liga outfit are prepared to meet the player's valuation, which is allegedly set at £46m.
Van de Beek is regarded as a like-for-like replacement for veteran Luka Modric, who may be sold in one of the next two transfer windows.
