West Bromwich Albion have reportedly decided to offer Saido Berahino an improved contract in a bid to fight off interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Berahino scored 20 goals in all competitions last season to further enhance his reputation as one of the most promising young forwards in the Premier League, but his form in the top flight has seen him repeatedly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to improve his attacking options by signing the 21-year-old, but the Baggies are willing to double his wages to keep him at the club.
The report suggests that West Brom will bid to secure his services for the foreseeable future with an offer of £30,000 a week after Spurs were rumoured to be preparing an offer of £15m.
Berahino is expected to be fit for the start of the new season after missing the European Under-21 Championship with a knee injury.
