DeAndre Yedlin's transfer to Tottenham Hotspur should be completed in the next 48 hours, according to his Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid.
Spurs appear to have beaten Roma to the £2.5m capture of the USA international right-back, who impressed in their run to the last 16 of the World Cup this summer.
The 21-year-old was left out of Seattle's last MLS match to ensure that injury did not cause a last-minute snag in the deal, and Schmid has revealed that it is only a matter of time before Yedlin's switch to White Hart Lane is confirmed.
"Yedlin's situation is very close," Schmid told reporters. "Some things are not entirely completed yet so we didn't want to play him and have the risk of injury without everything being finalised, but hopefully it will be completed in the next day or two."
Yedlin will reportedly remain with the Sounders until the end of the MLS season in January as part of the agreement that could make him Tottenham's fourth signing of the current window.
