St Johnstone midfielder Murray Davidson has been ruled out of action for three months with a knee injury.
The 27-year-old suffered the problem on Thursday during his side's 1-0 defeat to Alashkert in Europa League qualifying.
It was initially feared that Davidson had ruptured his cruciate ligament, but scans later showed that the damage was less severe than first thought.
"Muzz has had the knee scanned this afternoon and the news is that he has stretched rather than ruptured his cruciate but there is also bone bruising," manager Tommy Wright told the club's official website.
"The upshot of that is that we are looking at a minimum of three months out which is still bad news but at least not confirmation of what our worst fears were last night."
Davidson scored three goals in 27 appearances for St Johnstone during the 2014-15 campaign.
