St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright has lavished praise on Steven MacLean after the forward scored the only goal in his side's 1-0 win over Aberdeen.
The Saints boss described the experienced striker as a leader "on and off the pitch" and hailed his "unselfish work" during the Scottish Premiership contest.
"Steven MacLean is a leader for us on and off the pitch," Wright told BBC Sport.
"He knows how to link play and he probably doesn't get enough goals due to all of the unselfish work he does outside the box. We were competitive from the first whistle and that helped us."
The result moves St Johnstone up to seventh in the table, with six points from four matches.
