Oran Kearney started his Paisley stint with a point against Ladbrokes Premiership champions Celtic.

St Mirren midfielder Ryan Flynn admits he and his teammates need to ensure they maintain their work-rate against Hamilton to continue the feelgood factor following Oran Kearney's positive start as manager.

Kearney kicked off his stint in Paisley by taking a point against Ladbrokes Premiership champions Celtic but Flynn knows Saturday's trip to Lanarkshire presents its own difficulties.

"When you get that performance, it makes things easier and there is more of a bounce about the place," the former Falkirk and Sheffield United player said. "But it's a massive game on Saturday and it's going to be such a difficult game.

"I think it was a little bit easier on Friday night with the atmosphere and on TV and under the lights, it does make it a little bit easier.

"So we have to take it upon ourselves to put in that same performance and hopefully get the three points."

Flynn is keen to keep looking forward under Kearney after Alan Stubbs' 77-day spell in charge ended with four consecutive defeats.

"He has just come in and made sure we are all working hard and got us ready for Friday night's game," the 30-year-old said.

"Obviously we had a game plan and it went really well. I don't think there's a magical thing that takes place but so far it's been great and we just have to make sure we keep the performances and get the results to make sure it continues.

"Things change in football. I have been in football a long time and changed manager a lot. It's part and parcel of football. It's a fresh start again. I'd rather go through my career and have the one manager all the way through but it's not the way it happens.

"We just have to look from the Celtic game and make sure we take things forward. I don't think you can point fingers at what's gone wrong. We have just got to move forward. I don't think there's any point dwelling on the past."
