Goals from Craig Murray and Nathan Austin, the side's top scorer, either side of half time gave East Fife a 2-0 victory at Hampden Park.
Elgin City also recorded a win, beating Stirling Albion 1-0 at Borough Briggs.
Kyle Macleod's 12th-minute strike was enough to see City through, despite a late rally from Stirling who saw an effort cleared off the line in the final minutes of the fixture.
Annan Athletic moved to third in the table after a 3-2 win over Montrose, the home side leading 2-0 at half time with efforts from Nigerian forward Smart Osadolor and Matthew Flynn.
