Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone has claimed that the team must "keep believing" as they battle against relegation from the Premier League.
The Black Cats are currently four points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table heading into a hectic festive schedule.
"You need to keep believing because that's what takes you out," Mannone told the Sunderland Echo. "We beat Man City, Newcastle and Chelsea, so I don't see why we should give up the fight.
"We've got another game on Thursday, so we'll roll our sleeves up against another big team in Everton."
Sunderland make the trip to Goodison Park on Boxing Day.
