Swansea City manager Graham Potter is left still waiting for his first win in charge courtesy of a 2-1 defeat to La Liga side Eibar in a pre-season friendly.

Swansea City have fallen to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of La Liga club Eibar in their pre-season clash at the Jenbach Stadium in Austria this evening.

The newly-relegated Swans conceded goals either side of half time to slump to a second consecutive pre-season defeat, with Pere Milla and Sergio Enrich doing the damage for the Spanish outfit before Jordi Amat pulled one back late on.

The Championship outfit started brightly enough, and Jefferson Montero was the one who looked most likely to make something happen in the opening quarter, flashing an effort narrowly over and delivering a couple of testing crosses into the box.

Clear chances were few and far between until Eibar took the lead with just three minutes to go until half time, though, with Milla tapping a simple finish in at the back post after Swansea were slow to react to a throw-in and subsequent low cross from the right flank.

Graham Potter's side fell further behind just six minutes after the interval too, and again it came from the right as Enrich was allowed to take the ball down and rifle an effort past Erwin Mulder in the Swansea goal.

Swansea showed little sign of getting back into the game until the final 15 minutes, and even then they were still struggling to create genuine chances, and one of their most dangerous moments saw Eibar keeper Yoel make a comfortable save from Tom Carroll's 25-yard strike.

The Welsh club did pull a goal back with just five minutes remaining, though, when Joe Rodon meet Matt Grimes's free kick at the back post and nodded the ball back across the face of goal for Amat to head home from close range.

There was a chance for the Swans to level things up just three minutes later, too, when Dan James surged forward from inside his own half and created space for a shot, but his eventual effort lacked the power to truly trouble the keeper.

Eibar held on to the lead in the end as Swansea were condemned to another defeat ahead of Friday's friendly with Freiburg, which will be their final game before the new Championship season gets underway.

EIBAR: Yoel; Milla, Ramis (Martinez), Diop, Enrich (Cardona 68'), Oliveira, Valdes, Leon, Nano, Elgezabal, Ribeiro

SWANSEA: Nordfeldt (Mulder 46'); Roberts, Amat, Van der Hoorn, Grimes; Fulton, Carroll, Routledge (James 79); Dhanda (Maric 65'), McBurnie (Rodon 56'), Montero (Dyer 56')
