Swindon manager Phil Brown will check on the fitness of leading scorer Michael Doughty before deciding what role – if any – he will play against Cambridge.
Doughty has scored six goals in all competitions this season, but was sidelined for seven games with a hip injury before coming through Saturday’s goalless draw at home to 10-man Mansfield unscathed.
Brown admits he does not want Doughty suffering a setback by playing too much football in a short space of time.
However, Brown will have to make do without Sid Nelson, who picked up a fifth yellow card of the season against the Stags so must serve a one-match suspension.
Cambridge defender Brad Halliday misses the trip after he also was booked for the fifth time this season in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at leaders Lincoln.
Defender Jake Carroll returns to the squad following his red card against Forest Green at the start of October.
George Maris and Liam O’Neil will both be assessed closer to the game after sustaining knocks at Sincil Bank.
Harrison Dunk, Jabo Ibehre and Dimitar Mitov are all close to returning to first-team action.
