Swindon Town chairman Jed McCrory has insisted that the club are still in the market for a new striker.
The Robins have scored just twice in their opening three games this season, but McCrory is hopeful that a deal can soon be completed.
"Our search for a striker continues. We're hoping to bring one in this week to strengthen the front line, as we still only have two and most teams have four," McCrory told the Swindon Advertiser.
"We've spoken to various strikers over the potential of coming and strengthening the club, each with their own different backgrounds and unique individual abilities.
"We're trying to conclude the deals as quickly as possible, but we're moving sensibly to ensure they are the right type of strikers who will score the goals to aid our push for promotion this year."
Former Newcastle United forward Nile Ranger has been linked with a move to the club in recent weeks.
