Conference side Torquay United have signed free agent James McQuilkin on a non-contract basis.
The 25-year-old came through the youth set-up at West Bromwich Albion, before playing for Czech side Tescoma Zlin.
McQuilkin then spent four years with Hereford United, where he made 88 appearances.
The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international spent last season with Walsall, but had been without a club since leaving the Saddlers in the summer.
