Wigan Athletic striker Andy Delort has returned to Tours on loan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
The 23-year-old has not scored in 11 appearances since joining the Latics from the same French club in the summer.
A statement on Wigan's official website read: "Delort scored 24 goals for Tours last season, form which led to Latics recruiting him. Unfortunately, he has not managed to adapt to life in England as well as expected.
"The club want him to regain his scoring touch by returning back to an environment where he has flourished in the past and want him to continue his development in the future."
Wigan have compensated for Delort's exit by loaning Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Leon Clarke for the rest of the season.
