Manager Les Parry has been sacked by Tranmere Rovers after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Chesterfield, according to Sky Sports News.
The result extended Tranmere's winless streak to 11 games, a run that has left them hovering just two places and one point above the relegation zone.
Parry joined the club in October 2009, taking over from Liverpool and England legend John Barnes, but leaves with the club yet to taste victory in 2012.
The Tranmere board have taken the action with a view to securing their place in League One, and will now be on the lookout for a manager to help them do that in the 13 games that remain this season.
