Tranmere Rovers have completed the signing of former Hartlepool United defender Evan Horwood on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old, who was released by Hartlepool at the end of the season, will officially join his new teammates at the start of next month.
Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore said: "I'm delighted to be able to bring Evan to Tranmere. He's an experienced defender who likes to get forward.
"He created a lot of chances for his teammates at Hartlepool last season and hopefully he'll do the same for us.
"He's played a lot of games at this level and I'm sure he will be a good addition to our squad."
Horwood began his professional career at Sheffield United.
