Good morning and welcome to Sports Mole's live transfer blog on Friday, August 8.

With 24 days to go until the summer window slams shut, clubs are working hard to conclude their business.

Here, you can keep up to date with all the news and speculation as it emerges throughout the day.

Morning all! A number of deals were completed yesterday, but what will this Friday bring? Remember, clubs have just over three weeks to get there business done.
Let's begin with a selection of stories that were making the headlines last night.

West Ham United close in on Diafra Sakho signing?
Report: Aston Vila edging closer to deal for Aly Cissokho
Report: Tottenham Hotspur close to signing DeAndre Yedlin
Manchester United line up £40m Mehdi Benatia and Thomas Vermaelen swoop?

While numerous reports have claimed that Manchester United remain in the hunt for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, the Red Devils may miss out on another target, Thomas Vermaelen, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague. It is believed that Barcelona feel confident of beating United to the Arsenal defender's signature.
Switching to Sunderland now, and manager Gus Poyet admits that he is "confident" of signing Fabio Borini on a permanent deal. The Black Cats agreed a reported £14m fee with Liverpool last month, but the player has so far failed to agree a deal.
More reports have emerged claiming that Thomas Vermaelen will not become a Manchester United player this summer. According to Sky Sports News, the North-West outfit have ended their pursuit of the defender due to their refusal to agree a player swap with Arsenal. Does this mean that the Belgian is Barcelona bound?
Well, I think it's safe to say that Thomas Vermaelen is dominating this morning's transfer gossip! Reports coming out of the BBC claim that Barcelona have agreed a £15m fee with Arsenal for the 28-year-old defender.
That's all from me this morning, so I shall leave you in the capable hands of Darren Plant, who will bring you the latest transfer news for the next few hours.
Thank you, Danielle! Hi folks. The first bit of news that I will bring you this afternoon is regarding George Elokobi. The left-back was released by Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of the season, but he has found himself a new club after Oldham Athletic handed him a one-year contract.
If you missed any of this morning's transfer news, don't worry - you can get back up-to-date with our roundup by clicking here.
More news from League One for you now. Swindon Town have strengthened their squad with the loan signings of defenders Brad Smith and Jordan Turnbull, who arrive at the County Ground from Liverpool and Southampton respectively.
Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala in recent weeks, but despite reports that a deal is nearly completion, boss Manuel Pellegrini is refusing to provide an update on negotiations between the two clubs.
Back to League One now - you'd think that they would be concentrating on their first games of the season tomorrow, wouldn't you? Anyway, Walsall have signed former Chelsea midfielder Billy Clifford on a six-month contract.
On that note, I will hand you back over to Danielle Joynson, who will take you through the next four hours.
Thanks Darren! Hello again everyone. Let's kick off the next four hours with some transfer news coming out of Southampton...

DONE DEAL! Pepe Reina finalises his move to Bayern Munich from Liverpool. The Spanish goalkeeper has signed a three-year contract with the German champions.
Following the news that Jose Fonte is staying put at Southampton, it appears that Morgan Schneiderlin will be forced to remain at St Mary's. The midfielder has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur, but Saints boss Ronald Koeman has insisted that the Frenchman is not for sale. It has also been confirmed that Schneiderlin is not in the right frame of mind to feature in tomorrow's friendly against Bayer Leverkusen.
Newcastle United outcast Hatem Ben Arfa has been reported as a possible target for Everton. The Frenchman fell out of favour at St James' Park last season after manager Alan Pardew questioned his professionalism.
That's all from me, so I'll hand you over to Sian Cowper, who will update you with the latest transfer news and gossip emerging throughout the evening.
Thanks Danielle. First this evening we have news of a potential departure from the Premier League champions. The latest reports suggest that midfielder Javi Garcia will sign a two-year contract with Russia's Zenit St Petersburg after they offered Manchester City £13m for the Spaniard.
DONE DEAL! Aston Villa have announced that they have completed the signing of Aly Cissokho from Valencia. We'll bring you more on this shortly.
Here's some more on Aly Cissokho's move to Aston Villa. The 26-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Liverpool, has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League side.
Southampton have been linked with a move for goalkeeper Fraser Forster from Celtic this summer. Latest reports suggest that Premier League side have had a £10m bid for the England international accepted.
Like Southampton, Atletico Madrid have lost a few players this summer and need to bring in players to strengthen their squad. According to reports in the Spanish media, Diego Simeone is keen to sign striker Roberto Soldado on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado is believed to be a transfer target for Barcelona and Manchester United this summer. The club's president admits that they would let him leave if they receive a high enough offer.
Well that's all from me this evening, but stick around for the next three hours as Alex Meyers will be here to keep you up to date.
Thanks Sian. I will begin with the news that DeAndre Yedlin is reportedly closing in on a move to Tottenham. It is believed that he has completed a medical with the club ahead of a £2.5m move. He won't link up with the Londoners straight away though, as he will be loaned back to his current club Seattle Sounders until the end of the MLS season.
It appears that Alberto Moreno may be on the verge of joining Liverpool. The defender has been linked with a move to the Reds all summer, but a new report has suggested that he will complete his transfer after Sevilla's Super Cup meeting with Real Madrid next week.
DONE DEAL! Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Bruno Zuculini. The Argentine midfielder joins from Racing Club, after impressing for the Blues during their pre-season tours of Scotland and America.
AC Milan are reportedly close to signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez. According to reports, his agent will fly in to finalise the switch later today. The 32-year-old was Madrid's first-choice keeper in the league last season, but Keylor Navas's arrival means that his place is under threat.
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Trencin winger Moses Simon. The 19-year-old played in his club's recent Europa League tie with Hull City and it is believed that scouts from Spurs were watching him.
That's all we've got time for this evening. We'll be back later with more live coverage throughout the day, when the football league season gets underway. Thanks for joining us. Until next time, goodbye!
