Sports Mole provides updates throughout the day of all the latest transfer news.

Welcome to Sports Mole's live transfer blog on Thursday, July 2.

The summer window has been open for just two days, but many football clubs home and abroad have already added to their squads.

With just over five weeks to go before domestic seasons get underway, clubs are working hard behind the scenes to get deals over the line.

Rest assured that any developments or breaking transfer news will be brought to you throughout the day.

Good morning everyone! If day one of the summer window is anything to go by, then we can expect a busy day two! Yesterday, the transfer pages were filled with news as Liverpool completed the signing of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton, Bayern Munich won the race to capture Douglas Costa, and both Paul Pogba and Robin van Persie were linked with possible moves away from Juventus and Manchester United respectively. Make sure you stick around as we will inform you of all the latest developments as they happen!
There were plenty of stories that emerged overnight - Sergio Ramos, Xherdan Shaqiri and Asmir Begovic were among the headlines. If you'd like to whip through last night's speculation, then click on our Transfer Talk 8am Update.
Manchester City have been linked to numerous big names, including Raheem Sterling and Paul Pogba, but the former English champions are yet to seal a transfer. One name being heavily linked to City is Wolfsburg's Kevin de Bruyne. According to Goal.com, the latest development on this story is that the Premier League side will wait to launch a bid until they discover the outcome of the midfielder's contract talks with Wolfsburg.
Manchester United are widely expected to strengthen their midfield options this summer, with both Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schniederlin reportedly on their radar. If reports overnight are to be believed, then the Red Devils have finally made an approach for the latter of that pair, although a £20m bid is said to have been knocked back by Southampton.
Sticking with the Red Devils, there could be some outgoing movement in the coming days. Rookie forward James Wilson was restricted to just one appearance in the final three months of last season, which could see him sent out on loan this summer. Everton were linked with the 19-year-old last week, while Hull City are also thought to have shown an interest.
There's been plenty of transfer talk surrounding Manchester United this morning. Following on from that news concerning Morgan Schneiderlin a little earlier, Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has been speaking about rumours linking Bastian Schweinsteiger with an Old Trafford switch.

"Basically, nothing is excluded," he said. "It's a crazy world. He has clearly expressed that he is an important part of the team, but let's see. We're still waiting." More on that developing story can be found right here.

DONE DEAL! Brentford have now officially completed what is thought to be a club-record signing to bring FC Twente's Andreas Bjelland to Griffin Park on a three-year deal.

Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld is a man in demand at this moment in time. Southampton boss Ronald Koeman claimed earlier this week that the Belgium international wanted to remain on the South Coast following a successful loan spell there last season, but fresh reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are now closing in on a £14m deal.
BREAKING NEWS! Jazz Richards has this morning completed a permanent move to Fulham for an undisclosed fee. The Wales international had struggled to break into the Swansea City first-team fold, but he impressed enough on loan at Craven Cottage last term to earn a three-year contract.
West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has confirmed widespread reports suggesting that his side are planning a move for Arsenal's Carl Jenkinson, telling talkSPORT: "We are working very hard to try and get Carl back here". More on that can be found by clicking here.
A move that was expected, but still quite a surprising one in the Championship as Northern Ireland international Jamie Ward joins Nottingham Forest on a free transfer from their bitter rivals Derby County. I wonder what the reception will be like from Derby fans when he plays them next season?
AC Milan have been one of the busier European giants so far this summer and it seems that they will be beating Liverpool to the signature of Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca. Read more here.
DONE DEAL! Paul McShane follows former Hull teammate Stephen Quinn by joining Reading. The Irishman has signed a three-year contract and you can read quotes from both him and Royals boss Steve Clarke here.
We mentioned earlier that Spurs might be interested in hijacking Southampton's move for Toby Alderweireld, but the latest reports suggest that the Saints are the first to have began discussions with the Belgian.

News from managerless Leicester City, where 32-year-old midfielder Dean Hammond has signed a one-year extension to remain at the King Power for at least another season.
DONE DEAL! AC Milan confirm that Carlos Bacca will play in red and black next season, pending the results of that medical we told you about earlier.

Here's the full story on Bacca joining Milan after scoring an impressive 49 goals in two seasons for Sevilla.
BREAKING! He might have his problems with discipline, but Sunderland clearly think Lee Cattermole is of extreme importance to them as they have handed him a new contract until 2021.

"Lee is the controller of the side. He is a motivator, a leader and central to the success of our team," said Black Cats head coach Dick Advocaat.

Fulham appear keen to sign Kevin McDonald from fellow Championship side Wolves, but it looks like they'll have to part with a sizeable sum for the Scot.
More from Sunderland, who are believed to be keen on signing 33-times capped Belgium international Nicolas Lombaerts from Zenit St Petersburg. More on that, here.
DONE DEAL! QPR sign their fifth player of the summer by adding German striker Sebastian Polter from Mainz.

Click here to find out more about Polter's move to Loftus Road. He's a fairly unknown player, but Rangers head coach Chris Ramsey believes that he could be the next Bobby Zamora.
Sticking with the Championship - former Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi is training with Reading, who are without their first-choice keeper following Bournemouth's capture of Adam Federici.
DONE DEAL! Everton have announced that Belgian youth international David Henen has signed a three-year contract with the club. The 19-year-old joins from Olympiacos, and spent last season on loan with the Toffees, scoring six goals for the Under-21s side.
Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie has been linked with a move to Manchester United over the last couple of days, and according to the latest reports, manager Louis van Gaal has told the club's board to push through a deal as soon as possible.
Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger is another player being linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. Manager Pep Guardiola insists that the choice is the German international's, but that he would like to have the midfielder in his squad next season.
DONE DEAL! Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles will spent the season on loan with Ipswich Town in the Championship. The 17-year-old featured for the senior side for the first time last year, but is now looking to gain more first-team experience with Mick McCarthy's side.
The Spanish media has been reporting that Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan has agreed a five-year contract with Barcelona. The Turkish international has taken to Twitter to dismiss the claims though, describing what has been reported as "false".
DONE DEAL! Former Oldham Athletic midfielder Cristian Montano has joined League Two newcomers Bristol Rovers. The Colombian left his last club when the Latics terminated his contract following his arrest as part of a spot-fixing investigation, which was later dropped.
Watford defender Craig Cathcart will not be going anywhere in the near future, as the newly-promoted Premier League side have agreed a four-year contract extension with the 26-year-old.
DONE DEAL! Rotherham United have signed winger Emmanuel Ledesma from Middlesbrough, having had a spell on loan with the Millers last season.
It looks like there will be no deadline day drama from Peter Odemwingie this year, as the Nigeria international has signed a one-year contract extension with Stoke City.
Chelsea's Mohamed Salah is currently weighing up an offer to join Serie A side Fiorentina following a loan spell there last season. According to the latest reports, the Egyptian will decide whether or not to return to Italy within the next 24 hours.
Stuttgart defender Antonio Rudiger has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side this summer, and his agent has confirmed that Chelsea and Wolfsburg have both expressed an interest in signing the 22-year-old.
DONE DEAL! Gillingham have announced that defender Max Ehmer, who spent last season on loan with the League One side, will return on a three-year deal from Queens Park Rangers.
If you've missed any of today's transfer stories, you can now catch up with all of today's news in our Transfer Talk 7pm Update, including stories about Bastian Schweinsteiger, Carlos Bacca and Toby Alderweireld.
DONE DEAL! Brighton & Hove Albion announce the arrival of Cameroon international Gaetan Bong, who was a free agent after leaving Wigan Athletic. The Seagulls also signed former Spurs youngster Daniel Akindayini earlier today.
DONE DEAL! Andy Delort has ended a troubled spell at Wigan Athletic by signing for Ligue 1 side Caen. He spent the second half of last term on loan at Tours, and has now returned to his homeland permanently for an undisclosed fee.
DONE DEAL! AC Milan have announced that they have completed the signing of Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar Donetsk. The 28-year-old, who netted nine times in the Champions League last term, is now under contract with the Italian giants until 2020.
Time for an update on all of the movers and shakers from earlier this evening. You can get yourself up to date with everything transfer related via our latest roundup here.
DONE DEAL! Newly-promoted Watford have completed the signing of Roma defender Jose Holebas. The Greek international has signed a three-year contract with the Hornets.
Here's a big story from earlier that you may have missed. Southampton have reportedly opened talks with Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld about joining the club on a permanent basis. The Belgian spent last season on loan at St Mary's, making 26 Premier League appearances for the Saints.

It's been a productive day for AC Milan, who have added Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano and Colombia striker Carlos Bacca to their roster today. Milan are believed to have paid £21m for Bacca, while Adriano's fee has not been disclosed.
Another development from the Paul Pogba saga now following the news that Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta places the French midfielder aloft his wishlist of summer recruits if he is voted into office. Hmm.
Some Lukas Podolski-based news now and, according to the German's agent, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wanted to keep the 30-year-old, who is expected to seal a move to Galatasaray in the very near future.
Triiiiiing! There's another player through the door at Liverpool as the Reds secure their seventh signing of the summer. Who is it? There's only one way to find out.
Just one more transfer story for the night as Sevilla confirm that they have agreed personal terms with Yevhen Konoplyanka. More on this in here.
