Ched Evans's agent has rubbished a claim that the former Sheffield United striker has been offered a contract by Maltese club Hibernians.
The 26-year-old has been a free agent since being released from prison following a rape conviction last October, leading to Hibernians' vice-president telling the media that they had offered him a deal for the rest of the season.
However, a spokesperson for the forward told BBC Sport: "Since the media frenzy surrounding Ched, there have been numerous false stories, and stories of which Ched knows nothing about, of which this is one."
Hibernians currently lead the Maltese top flight by 15 points.
