Ukraine were made to work hard for their 3-0 victory over Luxembourg in their Euro 2016 qualifier.

The home side threatened in the first half as Andriy Yarmalenko found space to drive a shot at goal, but his effort was well blocked inside, the six-yard box by the visitors' defence.

Taras Stepanenko tried to fired the home side in front when he latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the box, but his effort was well saved by Jonathan Joubert.

At the start of the second half, Ukraine finally took the lead when Artem Kravets found space in the box and buried his strike beyond the reach of Joubert.

Mikhail Formenko's side doubled their advantage when Denys Garmash latched on to a headed pass from Vyacheslav Shevchuk and maintained his composure to find the net.

Luxembourg looked to hit back and tested Andriy Pyatov when Daniel da Mota fired an effort at goal from distance, but the keeper managed to make a comfortable save.

Ukraine secured their victory in the 86th minute when Yevhen Konoplyanka fired at goal from distance and found the back of the net.
