Former Ukraine and Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has revealed that he has turned down the chance to coach his national side.
The 36-year-old had been linked with the position following his retirement from football at the end of Euro 2012.
"I believe that today leading the national team of Ukraine is a somewhat premature step for me," said Shevchenko. "I hope the leadership of the football federation will understand my decision."
The frontman spent three years at Chelsea before moving to Dynamo Kyiv and finishing his career at the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex.
