Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly made his fellow Argentine Pablo Piatti one of his major targets between now and the end of the transfer window.
French side Rennes have reportedly tabled an offer for the winger, which his current employers Valencia are thought to have accepted.
However, the 24-year-old is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, which has alerted Pochettino, according to The People.
The report added that the Saints would have to part with around £2m to secure Piatti's services.
The one-time Argentina international joined Valencia in 2011 from Almeria.
