Nigel Reo-Coker has entered talks with Major League Soccer outfit Vancouver Whitecaps.
The former Aston Villa star has been linked with New York Red Bulls and Portland Timbers, but his agent Richard Trafford claims that he is close to a move to Canada.
"He wants to come here at a good age and make a good impact for a few years. He thinks he can add something to the league," he told newspaper Province.
"He's spent a lot of time in America and wants to come and play here for [Vancouver coach] Martin [Rennie]."
Reo-Coker is a free agent after his short-term deal with Ipswich Town expired last month.
Other clubs in England, as well as sides in Turkey and Greece, are said to have expressed an interest in signing him.
