Villarreal's Nilmar is said to be close to a move back home to Brazil, with Sao Paulo negotiating a deal for the striker.
Nilmar's agent Orlando Da Hora has claimed that the Brazil international has already received a formal offer from Sao Paulo, who had previously agreed a deal with Villarreal.
Da Hora explained that the Brazilian club's offer fell short of Nilmar's expectations, but the difference was nothing major and a deal should be concluded within the next few days.
"The first offer doesn't match what Nilmar wanted," Da Hora told Globoesporte.
"It is not far off though, it is barely a question of a few details.
"I am waiting for new contact from Sao Paulo in order to restart the talks."
Nilmar joined Villarreal in 2009 from Brazilian club Internacional.
