Chris Coleman has said that he feared the red card shown to Andy King during Wales's win over Cyprus would "kill" the team's chances of sealing the victory.
The home side were 2-1 up in their Euro 2016 qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium when King was dismissed for a dangerous tackle on Constantinos Makrides.
The manager told Sky Sports News: "When I saw the red card I thought it would kill us, we should have been three or four up by that point and we got too sloppy when really we should be killing these games off.
"I thought it wouldn't be our night but credit to our players. They were greedy and that's what we needed to get the three points."
The result leaves Wales at the top of Group B with seven points from their first three qualifiers.
