Wales boss Chris Coleman plays down the significance of being without suspended duo Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies for his side's Euro 2016 semi-final against Portugal.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has played down the significance of being without Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies for their Euro 2016 semi-final against Portugal on Wednesday.

Both players have played a key role in helping Wales into the last four of the competition, but will miss out through suspension having picked up bookings against Belgium in the quarters.

Coleman acknowledged that both Ramsey and Davies had been a big part of his side's success, but is confident that others will be able to step up to the plate.

"It's about the squad and not the team. Aaron Ramsey's performances have been among the best at the tournament and that's not be being biased," he told reporters.

"Ben Davies has been slightly out of position playing for us but he's grown in stature and been excellent for us. The boys who come in I have no worries about them.

"They know their jobs and as long as they have the same mentality as the other lads I have every confidence in them. We just need to go and enjoy the occasion."

Coleman also admitted that he never thought about getting as far as the semi-finals in France.
