Former Leicester City and Wales midfielder Robbie Savage has revealed that he received "a number of death threats" during his footballing career.
The 37-year-old was speaking after it was confirmed earlier today that Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand had suffered similar threats against his life over the ongoing race row with John Terry.
"I received a number of death threats in my time as a footballer, letters, verbally, house attacked, car vandalised, it's not nice," Savage wrote on Twitter.
"Phone calls to my house, saying to my wife they'll kill me, newspaper letters stuck on to paper to make a death threat!! It's scary stuff."
Savage retired at the end of last season following a three-year stint with Championship side Derby County.
