Walsall youngster Matt Preston has penned a one-year contract extension with the League One club.
The 20-year-old defender was limited to just one senior appearance during an injury-plagued campaign last season.
"Now that things are sorted, I just want to concentrate on working hard and getting a nose in the team during pre-season," he told the club's official website.
"I'm feeling fit and strong and can't wait for pre-season training to start, to be honest. I certainly feel ready to hit the ground running when pre-season training starts and that's what it is all about at this stage."
Preston signed his first professional deal at the Banks's Stadium two years ago.
