West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has hit back at his critics, insisting that he does not deserve his bad reputation.
The 21-year-old was criticised for not celebrating his goals in the recent FA Cup win over Gateshead, but he believes he is being targeted by people who do not know him.
He told reporters: "I just think that because I'm almost a target out there, everyone is trying to bring a bad name to me. I think the people who put me down, they don't know me. I don't understand why people were having a go at me for not celebrating last week.
"It's not in the rules that you have to celebrate when you score. Loads of players don't celebrate when they score but I'm always the one getting blamed and picked out at West Brom. I just smile and keep my mouth shut."
Berahino has scored 14 goals in 25 appearances so far this season.
